update 7/31/24... the owner is giving me a bit more time to resolve this. Hopefully, there will be a video tagged with this in the future. the plan is to install a new tipm through the warranty of the current one, assuming this short possibly damaged the ones that were installed as it was damaging clusters. I ASSUME... being that I don't have a perfect worrying diagram layout giving tipm input/...

@alexandercahoulan6583 that's cool... but explain what will happen having autolite in the car? Will it change fuel trims? Will it affect timing? Will it alter the performance in any way? I'm open ears here and like to hear what 'WILL' happen
Repair it and get rid of it is what I would do can't trust it unreliable vehicle especially if you drive to work
If car burn engine oil try oil castrol edge synthetic 5w30 high mileage or pennzoil 5w30 synthetic high mileage oil . These 2 engine oil are best if car burns engine oil
Man, that sucks for the owner. Looks like lack of oil, maybe stemming from in the past someone vacuuming down a system and drew out the oil or a hose failure and the oil not replaced. No dipstick on these puppies.

I’m having the same problem with a customer same car but a six cylinder the code came up p0024 p0014 and the car has a squealing noise like a cat is being slaughtered and the car got so much emoji on the dashboard which I change the Camp chef but it’s not working
What is the torque specs for the 3 bolts on the brack that mount to the transaxle on the rear?
No loctite on the bolt, and way too much sealer on the cover. That stuff probably squished into the inside of the differential. Looked like you also have a leaking brake cylinder.

Sorry if it appeared I was criticizing you. I was simply mentioning those things for others doing this job. You don't want the sealant inside the diff, and if the bolt holding the pin comes loose, that could cause a big problem in the differential. Thanks for the video.

These Hyundai/Kia are completely intolerant of lack of maintenance. They are poorly designed engines to start with. If you want it to last change your oil 5k or less or your piston rings will have issues with burning oil. Most owners of these Hyundai/Kia don't maintain these cars in my experience. By a Toyota is more for a reason. I would recommend half what the book says on oil maintenance.

Many people have no clue how cars systems rely on each other for proper operation and when one thing it becomes bad enough the system with try to limp itself along by prioritizing certain functions and turning off others but it’s not sustainable.

I'm of two minds on this sorta thing. On the one hand, it's a fantastic way to make people actually fix their vehicles. People will ignore a check engine light or an ABS light a lot longer than inoperative AC. On the other hand, it creates a massive red hearing and opens up a lot of room for sketchy people (not yourself obviously) to rob people blind. I know at least 2 guys who, if confronted with the same customer, would have sold a thermostat AND an unnecessary condenser along with the freon drain and fill that comes with that.
That's hard to believe people would do that, but I'm in denial this actually happen. Crazy that it do! Most of my clients are female and I've heard the stories from other mechanics 😆 🤣
@partsshooter yeah man a couple bad eggs make us all look bad. But that's why folks like yourself are especially important, not just cause your doing honest work but because you film it and let people see some of the stuff that happens under the hood. It's bad that sketchy mechanics are still out there, but I think their jobs getting harder, God bless buddy 🙌

A good engine shouldn't consume any oil my 1997 Toyota Hilux with 437000 kilometres on it with the 22R engine doesn't consume any oil at all its a very good engine and how many times have l seen Kia and Hyundai's having engine problems obviously they are very good engines no were as good as any Toyota engine

I weld on vehicles weekly. Probably few hundred vehicles and not one issue. I hardly ever disconnect the battery. Personally I don't see how disconnecting battery does anything. The secret is proper grounding to whatever your welding on. Removing broken exhaust manifold bolt? Don't put ground on bumper. It would go on cylinder head not the block. Welding on exhaust? It goes on Ground goes close to whatever your welding. Also the process used has a factor. Mig welding uses 19v or so which a 12v system will withstand. They say that a battery is like a sponge for voltage spikes if an alternator. So if argue it's better to leave it hooked up.
@eddiereichel9354 I agree, i never had issues welding with battery connected and never disconnected... I never had this happen before but just going off the back story from customer. Strange that the issue started after he did these things he did

@@partsshooter I have an auto shop in NWPA. I was a industrial mechanic before I opened my own auto shop. Watching Eric O and Ivan and scanner danner gave me the idea to open up. I have fixed a car behind almost every single shop and new car dealership around me. I used to be hooked on meth and heiroin after meth. Came home from prison 10 years ago. Im happily married and adopted my daughter. Thanks for posting what ya do. These vehicles are not easy to figure out sometimes. I just fixed a ford fiesta last week. Local shop had charged him 65 bucks to transfer trouble codes form his scanner to the dude's receipt. It took him longer to explain it than it did for me to find the BCM unplugged. Ford puts them right at passengers feet

@@golfmaniac007 you have the best chance that will work only if the pintle is stuck and sticking. Typically the component is weak and need replacing
How many keys does it have on the camshaft ?
I don't think I understand your question. If I do though, 1 key way, cam sprocket locks into per camshaft if I recall. But the video shows this information. Before removal of those components, get the number 1 cylinder at top dead center, check your marks before removal

@vkpc1 typically, the additives have a high failure rate. They require very specific conditions to work, and in most cases, the real world never satisfy control environmental testing standards. Those companies just simply want you "trying" their product lol. Long story short, it don't hurt to try but best to repair the seal

Keep it full and drive it....I had 170,000 on my 2016 until I totaled it. But I always keep the oil FULL.

Hi, presumably U got close to the problem, however, it is best to address the one level further down problem at the same time, which is: a failed FIPG (form in place gasket) underneath the water intake>>lid<<!!!!!! check the Toyota Maintenance video for reference!

@@hh4826 spark plug tube seals are fail. They are integrated within the valve cover and need to be replaced as one. The valve cover gasket can only be replaced

2011 Elantra port injection. OCI btwn 3000-4500 miles depending on city/highway use. No oil consumption at 188k miles. Use simple wallymart Supertech Advanced synthetic oil and change filter every 2nd oil change w Fram Ultra.
